Also needs an overlay that color-codes the article text added and deleted by a selected editor. This is such an obviously desirable feature that it must already exist somewhere, but it would great for general users to see who added exactly what.

We'd like to give you the opportunity to
give us some insight on the "person behind the blog."

It would just take a few minutes of your time. The interview form can
be submitted online at http://bloginterviewer.com/submit-an-interview

Best regards,

Mike Thomas

It would be really interesting to be able to aggregate data about the nature of someone's edits, not just their frequency.

Does this person tend to add an additional line here or there or do they add entire paragraphs. Do they rewrite articles entirely? Are their edits mostly about content or are they just surfing through and tightening other people's grammar? Do they have a penchant for deleting content?

I don't know if there's a way to numerically track all of that and have it still be easy to digest graphically but it would certainly add another element to the analysis.

Fred,

Many thanks for an awesome post about our tool and your thoughts on them. The feedback that you mentioned are definitely along the line of what we have been thinking about, especially along the lines of sorting the user list, visualizing the reverts (you should read our CHI2007 papers. One of which includes visualization of reverts.)

Funny thing you should mention the caching issue, because we put a giant Squid cache in front of the whole system, so the speed issue you're experiencing is delay from Wikipedia (from our own experience of the speed). We'll look into ways to speed things up further.

Ed
