Open Thread - New Blog, New Design

Welcome to the new Unit Structures. I’m glad to be off Blogger, and I’m doubly glad to be using Wordpress. If you have any suggestions or feedback regarding the design of Unit Structures, or if you find any bugs, please feel free to leave a comment. I haven’t connected this blog to my Feedburner yet, so it is intentional that this post wasn’t sent to your newsreader.

The auto-detect feed url is correct but the ‘home page url’ points to ‘http://chimprawk.blogspot.com/’ which I think is the old site.

In any case, I appreciate your blog, thanks for writing it.

So… ah… how do I change my RSS feed reader to read this site now? Clicky the RSS button points back at chmprawk.blogspot.com … Nice and clean theme over here BTW.

Thanks! I like the theme too. Derek Powazek is the designer, but I’ve modded it a bit.

Regarding the RSS feed, the URL will switch over once I switch feedburner. I haven’t done that yet - I’m on vacation and giving this new theme a week to burn in/find bugs before I make the switch.

Blogger also id’d my old blog as a spam blog; this was after I started using ScribeFire to post my writing instead of the Blogger interface. They finally freed it up after 2 weeks, but added a “9″ to the URL so it broke all the old links. I took this as God’s Will that I should have my own domain and a WP blog. Agree with others on the attractive theme.

Glad to see you make the move! I like the theme choice, but I would bump the tagline down to its own line so it doesn’t break on the search box. I added a “display: block” to the span in Firebug and the results looked pretty good.

Yeah, I think when I switched Feedburner to the new feed from this blog, it picked this post up. No harm done.
